Patrick H. Wood

Patrick Wood has been practicing law in New Hampshire since 1974. A native of South Dakota, Patrick earned his B.A. from Yale University in 1971 and his J.D. from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1974. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New Hampshire Bar Association, and the Belknap County Bar Association. Attorney Wood has served as Chair of the Real Estate Section of the New Hampshire Bar Association and as Treasurer of the Belknap County Bar Association. He helped establish the Legal Assistant training program at the New Hampshire Community Technical College in Laconia and has taught numerous courses at the college and for the Lakes Region Chapter of the American Bankers Association. Patrick served on the Laconia School Board from 1990 to 1993. He has also served on various CLE Panels for the New Hampshire Bar Association. He has been on the Board of Directors of the Lakes Region United Way, having served two terms as President, and also was the President of the Belknap Mill Society. Patrick currently serves as Chair of the New Hampshire Personnel Appeals Board and has been on the board since 1997. He has served as an expert witness in many cases involving condominium and related real estate development law. He has also been asked to serve as a real estate Commissioner by Attorney Robert Varney of Wolfeboro, NH, and Attorney Mark Moeller of Dover, NH. Patrick opened his own law firm, Patrick Wood Law Office, PLLC, on April 1, 2007, in downtown Laconia, after practicing at Wescott, Millham & Dyer for 22 years. His practice focuses on real estate, business, estate planning, land use, zoning and development law, and entity formation, including the establishment of limited liability companies.
